For me its been all about confidence and owning my stutter. I began a job this year where I have to talk over a radio and broadcast my voice to literally thousands of people. Is it pretty? No. Do I stutter a lot during this? Yep. Do I give a shit? Mostly no... as long as im getting my job done who cares if its elegant. When asking girls out I almost always slip in "Yeah I sound like that because I have a stutter" as confidently as I can muster. Also don't down play the possibilities of word replacement. If you read a lot you find that there's lots of really descriptive words out there that no one uses! Some people might think you're being pretentious, but fuck em.
