Well, either you do or don’t stutter and my related comments stand. It seems that the Lidcombe program provides a healthy approach for parents to interact and support a child with a stuttering issue. As long as it opens up an avenue for communication between parent and child on this issue I am for it. Most stuttering children will need empathetic, positive parental support. It sounds like this parent will be great at that. And I am nowhere suggesting they hide. Advocate? Why should they have to be an advocate for stuttering? They may be forced into it, but that is a brutal slog best avoided if at all possible. Just read the multitude of posts in this subreddit.
