You are a smart wise man. Wow. This is some good stuff. You’re absolutely right. Once we get past that stupid lizard brain, that’s when we are real humans, and that is a laudable goal for all of us, but for stutterers, finding empathy is the real end. I think when we see another stutterer, there’s this instant atavistic defensive response, because we feel so vulnerable in that moment, but it’s fleeting. For me, once I get past that little spasm of little boy fear, I too find great inspiration in seeing someone overcome and prosper in spite of this shit we have to deal with. It gives me hope. The fact we are still here and standing up on our hind legs is a fucking great thing. I’ve always told myself: I don’t mind losing, but I refuse to be beaten. You keep kicking ass as well, brother.
