yo, i am 19 rn i am also stammer and my dad is also an army officer (Redt.) from the rank of Colonel. i also want to join the army and i will be giving my first CDS attempt (Combined Defense Services) exam this 1st Sept. Bro even i feel like i wont be able to do anything in my life. But dont give up man i have met a lot officer who used to stammer and they say its fine Some tips they gave me that might help anyone who stammers or knows someone who stammers are- 1. take slowly. And what i mean by this is to focus on what you are saying for eg. if i want to say Good evening My name is abcd. you will notice that after the starting of every word there is a vowel. in "Good evening" we have (G-oo-d) (e-v-ening) etc and dw if if you say words that don't have any vowels after the first letter the pronunciation of the word will always have a vowel in it (I hope I was able to explain it well) 2. Every person who stammers or stutters at some point realized that they don't stammer or stutter while singing any song no matter how fast it could be. ring any bells?? bro start speaking slow and start speaking in a fluent manner like you are singing a song and if you feel like that will look odd trust me everyone knows some people who speaks very slow and they are the ones everyone wants to listen too. and don't give up on your dreams man.. every person is experiencing life for the first time and everyone's life is different. So if someone tells you to give up on your dreams then just tell them to fuck off (and i mean it) and just do what you have to do the more you focus on this problem the deeper you will get in the hole of depression and a mindset of a failure. enjoy life dude its not that bad and even if you stammer or stutter very bad at some point just remind yourself "bruh it happened in the past and I don't even remember it now so fuck it" and move on trust me it gets very easy. I'll see you at the academy homie!
