Voice recording homework My German teacher gave us homework, to read out two paragraphs about Anna Frank and her diary aloud. By recording and sending her the voice message. This reminded me of my speech therapist back in middle school. She would record my voice and tell me to talk slowly and try to smoothen words etc. I really hated listening to my own voice stuttering, cause it makes me upset. But anyway while reading the text over and over again (for 1+ hour); I began to stutter less by giving some of the sentences rhythm. But I came to the point where I didn't know, how to treat the blocks I would get with words beginning on the letter 'a', and choke on that for 1-2 seconds followed by small stutters as I recovered. This really irritated me and I ended up deleting the recording attempts, and trying over and over for another 30+ min. After a while I couldn’t be arsed to try anymore and decided to just send it in, with small blocks and stutters here and there. This homework also helped me by being aware of my small stutters, which I avoided. But the blocks I had felt like unavoidable, and I imagined that if I didn't stutter this homework would of been a piece of cake. Forgot to mention when I read the text by myself aloud, I didn’t stutter or have blocks. But when I started recording I began to stutter and have blocks. This also happens when I want to say something aloud. Think it’s the pressure or something, but even as I try to relax and take it slowly I will still get blocks etc.
