Dealing with people who don't understand

Dealing with people who don't understand I've been stuttering since I was able to talk and I am 26 now. I have a severe block that really ramps up when I"m trying to talk on the phone. Anyways, I just recently got a new job and I told my boss on the first day that I would have trouble answering the phones due to my stutter. His response was: "I blink a lot" I thought to myself....okay I"m not sure what that has to do with me having a communication disorder but whatever. Fast forward two months and he's been putting me in the position to constantly answer the phone. He ends up getting pissy with me, hanging up then calling back because I have such a hard time saying hello so I guess he assumes I'm just being an ass and not talking. I don't go out of my way to avoid situations where my stutter is severe but I just want people's patience when talking to me. Regardless, answering phones isn't a critical requirement and not in my job description so it's not like I"m disabled to do my job. I work at a news station so it's one building with a bunch of cubicles and the production room which is where I work. Should I have another talk with him in regards to my stutter? His response the first time was just so stupid and idiotic that I don't think he understands even after I explained it to him. I realize this is more of a rant but any tips for dealing with people who don't understand would be appreciated.
