Even if it gives stutterers significantly improved fluency, with subtle stutters, then it’s a step in the right direction. I think something like that, coupled with fluency shaping techniques would make a big difference for us! I feel like they need to look into a drug that modules Dopamine, Seratonin and other critical neurotransmitters into the “goldilocks zone” for the stuttering brain, so all the signals fire at the most optimum times/levels to improve speech motor function. I reckon it’s an imbalance in these neurotransmitters that’s causing our stuttering. Either too much dopamine or too little, which is why some people find drinking coffee or alcohol or even smoking gives them significantly better fluency, whilst for others it wreaks havoc on their speech.
