I stutter often but I can be pretty fluent when I'm calling someone out. After all the bullying I withstood as a kid.  I don't often comment! But when I do they are long! Ok, confronting people when the context is safe to do so is very cathartic. In all contexts swearing helps a LOT for me for whatever reason. I had a lot of self talk and introspective thoughts about bullies as a kid. All the speech therapy wanted me to do was repeat and repeat and read out loud. #1 thing a speech therapist could have done for me would have been to teach me how to puff up and dish some bullying right back. They would say things like that but really it would have been good if I had lashed out vs lashing in.  Over 30 honestly and truly: if I could I would go back to and 'choose violence or otherwise act out to defend myself. (Def not exactly what this video depicts but I mean the bullies were themselves troubled kids with family issues I should have gone ahead and teased them about HA HA I did not know I was right to feel the anger I did!  ).  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lQkpes3dgzg If someone tried to record me I would ask if they need help, like what is their concern? Or laugh like a crazy person until they were afraid and went away. Depending on the venue a loud and clear "WHAT the FUCK is your PROBLEM buddy/pal/loser." "Look at this idiot/clown/stooge/fool over here recording strangers!" While recording in public is legal in most areas, recording a conversation without the other person's consent is a crime. In many US states it is a serious crime. Check laws in your area in case this is a repeat problem for you or in case one person is harassing you.  Hopefully this was a one off and never happens to you again! No one wants to be on defense.  It's hard to be defensive and secure in that defense. I attest I have had those experiences. The thing that helps the most is that you really have to look at the people who are looking at you exactly the way they are looking at you so they know how it feels. The last thing they expect is for the thing they find humorous to make a joke on them. Also maybe useful for you to watch stuttering comedians handle hecklers while they are on stage.  Comedy is often NSFW goes the same for these links to Drew Lynch playing out on hecklers.  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=W4EEBwwFXP0&pp=ygUSZHJldyBseW5jaCBoZWNrbGVy
