No idea how it is in India, but I'm in the uk, I changed my name as soon as I reached 18, as I had difficulty saying my surname without making a total embarrassment of myself.. Thankfully I havnt really had that issue with my new name.. I changed it legally by deed poll for a small charge, mind you this was way back in 1981!
