Learning how to socialize at 23 This isn’t gonna be me seeking pity but more so sharing my overall experience as a college student. I’m fairly out going as a stutterer, I try to generate conversation whenever I see fit. I’m currently trying to learn how to socialize after self isolating for most of my childhood. Most non verbal cues that people learn at a younger age im still learning to this day. Like I can never tell for the life of me when a girl is flirting with me or if somebody is trying to be my friend or whatever. I am able to make friends, but am unable to tell if people want to talk or if I am generally bothering them. Which is something I’ve noticed is a big thing with me, seeing my stutter as a burden to my listeners and not wanting to burden them. Most people don’t care at all about how the message is delivered more so about the message. These unknowns won’t hold me back I’m gonna continue to make strides in my social skills and I encourage anybody who wants to to do so as well.
