Hello, I am a PWS and have graduated from the therapy system. After reflecting quite a bit on my journey, I'd recommend a few things that I wished I knew as a 10 year old child who stuttered facing an uncertain future ahead. \- Speech therapy should never be the only therapeutic pursuit. By this I mean, encourage her to do things that she enjoys do and through which she can develop some self-confidence. And, perhaps more importantly, ensure you are supplementing speech therapy with some kind of cognitive/behavioral psychologist sessions to help her work through the thoughts/emotions/feelings that perpetuate her struggle. \- Introduce her to the stuttering community and other kids who stutter to help her feel less alone in her struggle. The National Stuttering Association, FRIENDS, and SAY (the Stuttering Association for the Young) are the best for kids in the US. SAY even has a summer camp that would be an excellent option. \- Therapy that focuses on alleviating her struggled stuttering and not/not achieving fluency. Also known as stuttering modification. Its aim is to help her stutter more efficiently and lessen the struggle that leads to all of the side effects of stuttering. \- Knowing, as a parent, that the therapy she is receiving now will have implications for her as she grows older. The fact that you're seeing help is great, but continue to educate yourself on stuttering, types of popular approaches these days--ie avoidance reduction therapy--and what she is currently learning in therapy. My guess is that she's doing well in the actual therapy sessions but is unable to understand how to apply it in her every day life to make it "work". If you're interested in getting a perspective on a child's experience going through speech therapy, I'm in the middle of publishing a series of blog posts on my childhood journey through speech therapy. Two of the three posts are linked below, and please use them to inform your perspective on the need for a holistic approach to supporting your daughter. My upcoming post will be covering recommendations for my younger self that would have been great to pair along with speech therapy. Thanks for reaching out on behalf of your daughter, I hope this helps. \- EWM [http://everywakingmoment.blog/2022/01/10/school-based-speech-therapy-a-history-%ef%bf%bc/](http://everywakingmoment.blog/2022/01/10/school-based-speech-therapy-a-history-%ef%bf%bc/) [http://everywakingmoment.blog/2022/01/17/school-based-speech-therapy-to-all-the-slps-who-failed-me/](http://everywakingmoment.blog/2022/01/17/school-based-speech-therapy-to-all-the-slps-who-failed-me/)
