Your friend said he was hurt by something you told him and you turned it around on him. You didn't say the mean thing but did you stand up for your friend? And he is allowed to be hurt even if it's two years later. That was a pretty awful thing to have said in the first place and then to have told him second-hand. I would apologize to him and reevaluate whether you want to be friends with someone who would mock someone's disability. And I'm saying this as someone who walked out of a breakfast with friends this morning because someone wouldn't stop mocking someone's disability. So I'm not just passing judgment. But you're certainly not in the right here.
