I’ve been stuttering since I was a child and I had my son 3 years ago! I was definitely nervous for the same reasons as your girlfriend. But as you said, even if your child does stutter, they’ll have an amazing role model to look up to. Personally, being a mom who stutters has completely changed how I view myself and my stutter because my son comes first. So I don’t have time to think about how others will perceive my stutter, because his needs come above everything else. There’s so many crazy genetic diseases and deformities that kids can be born with that are way worse than a stutter in my opinion. I hope you guys are able to find happiness in whatever you choose!
