1. The stutter isn't my problem, its everyone else's problem. 2. Most people just want to talk about themselves so you can get pretty far without saying much 3. When the stutter is put forward people who are annoyed by it will self select away. The earlier I do that filter the easier it is to befriend the people who are left 4. Its easier to make friends when there is a common interest. Pick something you like to do that involves other people in the same space. You might be the person who stutters, but once everyone knows you it really doesn't matter 5. Befriend extroverts. They are more than happy to do the talking when I don't want to 6. Put the awkward in the room. Its much easier for people to accept when you are awkward when they know that you know that you are awkward
