That was a touching story. I'm also currently struggling in the process in accepting that I stutter. One insight that a friend of mine suggested is to think not myself as a stutter, but as a person who stutters. Previously, I was trying to accept that I was a stutterer, but this was really difficult for me. Getting over the shame of having a stutter has been one of my personal mountains. So I feel for you. How often do you look at yourself in the mirror? Based off of personal experiences and friends that I've talked too, a lot of people of are ashamed of their own self-image or are really self-conscious haven't looked at themselves in the mirror too often. It seems you are on the right track and I wish for the best in your pursuits.
