I dunno. My feelings sorta differ on this subject. Ive never once met another person with a full on stutter, so I sometimes sorta isolated in that way. I have a friend who doesn't have a stutter per se but isnt the most fluent, and I love it when we make jokes about how we both cant talk properly even though her 'stutter' or disfluency or whatever is no where near mine. It makes me feel like I have someone. I get where you are coming from on the invalidation sorta feeling, but I kind of like it when people 'downplay' my stutter, I sort of feel less self conscious about it. I really think its up to how you view your stutter and how your outlook on the world is I guess... I take everything at face value.
