I more or less did and I became a teacher and I talk to everyone. Turns out it was largely anxiety but I still do struggle with some words. I'll often sandwich those words to the middle of the sentence to minimize the chances of a stutter. I never did anything to cure it though, I just learned to deal with my anxiety.
